This module contains a database of information used by the other vehicle related packages. The other modules
that use the information from the Franchise Data module are:
• Showroom module
• Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) module
• Vehicle Stock Books
Many of the Franchise Data fields are used by other modules, and in some cases printed on invoices, therefore, it
is important to ensure that text is typed in upper and lower case.
Franchise Data Information Supplied by Third Parties
Help is available from third party sources to help keep the Franchise Data information up to date. David Henley
(or IDS Group Ltd), CAP Data or the individual manufacturers can supply information which can be loaded directly
into the Franchise Data module.
The information supplied by the third parties includes the Model and Variant information. Each time a new model
or variant is launched the information is supplied to update the information in the Franchise Data module. The
manufacturers recommended selling prices for each variant are usually supplied and the system can then work
out the cost of the variant to the dealership by looking at other information held on the database.
The Factory options, Colours and Trims information can also be supplied by the third party sources together with
the manufacturers recommended selling prices.
The information from the third parties is usually sent (by the third parties to the dealership) at least once a month
but it can be more often if there are significant changes to the information. This information will need to be
uploaded onto the system by someone from within the dealership. This up-date process has to be done when the
information in the Franchise Data module is not in use.
