Internal Charges (Source Code W)
The Service or Parts department can only invoice a cost to a vehicle if a specification or cost line exists on the
vehicle record. The line must have a source of 8W9 to be valid for workshop purposes.
When the Sales Administrator requires work to be done by the workshop the appropriate line(s) must be added to
the vehicle record. A facility exists to make the request of the workshop electronically by pushing the selected
lines to POS. It is a quick and straightforward process to create the WIP document from the pushed lines.
If there is no estimated cost against any selected lines it will be necessary to add this detail before pushing the
line to POS. The standard set up of the system dictates that the estimated cost is the maximum that the
workshop can invoice for any given line.
The status of any line can be viewed by double clicking the line and viewing the purchase details.
For items pushed to POS, the date pushed will be updated.
When the WIP is raised, the WIP number will be updated.
When the invoice is completed the S/L Account, Invoice number and Date will be updated.
