The Vehicle Stock Book for Accountants - Flipbook - Page 14
The source code determines how the cost of each option is to be received. The choices are: Sales or Purchase
Ledger, Work in Progress (i.e. Point of Sale), Outside Purchases (not normally used), or Fixed (for example
house charge reserve).
Codes S, P and W should be defined in Franchise Data as 8E9 for Estimated. This means that whilst an estimated
cost should be entered on each vehicle, the actual (i.e. real) cost will be coming from another module.
Code F should be defined in Franchise Data as 8F9 for Fixed Cost. Any options set to be posted as a fixed cost,
the value entered as the estimated figure, automatically updates the actual cost field. This value is then posted
as specified on the Master Posting Table. Such postings require particular set up on the posting tables. This type
of posting is generally used for provision or accruals, catering for items such as fuel, first service reserve, house
charge etc.
The Recoverable Costs cater for the postings on the Specification page of the vehicle record, effectively the items
being sold to the customer.
