Detailed Posting Tables
Introduction
The Detailed Posting Tables convert the mnemonic codes held on the Master Posting Tables, into nominal ledger
accounts. The system can be set to post to the nominal ledger at Franchise, Model, Variant or Posting Code
level. This is set in the VSB System Parameters.
It is quite common for the postings to be made at model or posting code level. A franchise with few models (such
as a niche franchise) may gain advantage by posting at variant level. The decision is strongly influenced by
composite and other reporting requirements.
To access a table it is necessary to select the Franchise and the level at which postings are made, the model,
variant or posting code. The Posting Type gives access to the Balance Sheet or Profit & Loss postings. The
Vehicle Type determines whether new or used vehicle details are displayed.
There is only one set of balance sheet postings, for the level required but the Profit & Loss postings are
determined by sale type.
