PROCESS
When creating a new customer and/or vehicle record ensure that the record does not
already exist. This is done by searching for the customers details in the normal way.
This will result in one of two outcomes:
1. If the search does not result in a match then the Customer search screen will not
open and the search tool will have the Company/Customer/Vehicle options
enabled. The creation process begins by clicking on Customer, note that it is not
normal procedure for new Company records to be created through Point-of-Sale,
but it is possible.
2. If the search does provide matches and the Customer search screen is displayed
(i.e. a search is carried out on a common name such as Smith), check the search
results to ensure the customer details do not already exist. Once confident that a
duplicate record will not be created, click on the Cancel button.
