STEP 6
Prior to the invoice being printed, a final prompt box opens where information for the
service history record is entered.
A service code is selected from the list offered in the drop down box. This list is user
definable so will vary between dealers. The most appropriate code must be chosen
and it is very important to select the correct code, especially servicing and/or MOT
work has been done. The second box can be used for free text detail.
The current mileage of the vehicle should now be recorded accurately and a mileage
lower than the previous mileage will not be allowed. Once this has been done the OK
button will be made available.
If a Service code relating to a Service was used you will be shown the Next Service
Date screen. This details the next anticipated date a service will be required. The date
shown is calculated by the system based upon the average daily mileage the vehicle
is covering and the service schedule for the model of vehicle. It can be amended if
required and is commonly used when sending out Service Reminders.
Click 8OK9 to save the service history and mileage details. The invoice will now be
printed and the WIP saved.
MOT work also requires the correct service code to be used, as this will also prompt
for confirmation of the next MOT date. This ensures MOT reminder letters are sent at
the appropriate time.
