STEP 3
Changing the labour rate involves the same initial stages as amending the labour type.
The labour details page for the required line is opened up by double clicking on the
line number. Once open, the 8Rate per hour9 value can then be keyed in as required.
It is important to bear in mind that the correct labour type has been selected before
amending the rate. The labour type does have an influence on how postings are made
in the Nominal Ledger so care should be exercised. Remember, this new rate will now
need to be fixed to prevent it being overwritten back to the default from the account
number.
STEP 4
Applying discount is performed in the same way as amending the labour rate except
that the discount is entered in the 8Discount percent9 box.
Note that when the 8Fixed9 box is ticked, a small window opens which displays the
8Desired Price9.
This window is showing the value of the labour line after the discount has been applied
(but before VAT). This box can be used if a specific labour value is to be charged,
rather than a specific discount. By entering the required value to be charged, the
discount percentage will be recalculated so the desired price is achieved.
STEP 5
Once the labour type, rate and discounts are amended as required, click 8OK9 on the
labour details page to return to the main WIP screen. Should a further adjustment
need to be made to the rates or discounts, the line will need to have the 8Fixed9 tick
removed in order to make the fields editable once more.
Remember – The ability to make changes to labour rates and discounts is priority
controlled and as such may not be available to some users.
