Bank Reconciliation
- Cash Suspense
Accounts
Introduction
The Bank Reconciliation process is not only for actual bank accounts but is also relevant for cash suspense
accounts.
There are two reconciliation methods available on the system. A capital 8C9 is used for bank accounts where ongoing reconciliation is required and a starting and ending balance is used to calculate the difference to be
reconciled. A lower case 8c9 is used for contra reconciliation, ideal for cash suspense accounts where values are
going into and out of the account and should balance to zero. The reconciliation will not be allowed until the lines
balance to zero. The NL Journal routine is accessible from the reconciliation process to facilitate amendments
that may put the reconciliation into balance where appropriate.
