1. Parts Discount Maps & Tables - Purchasing
Introduction
Autoline utilises a series of Discount maps and table to control all aspects of purchasing and selling prices for
parts.
This gives the user the ability to set parts discount specifically by sales ledger account or groups of sales ledger
accounts if required. However no part discounts should ever be set without an understanding of the price paid for
the parts in question.
The processes used to discount parts are covered separately, however this process details the key information
used in the setting of parts purchase prices.
Discount Map
The Discount map is used by the system to allocate the correct discounts on purchases from your suppliers, and
also to automatically discount parts sales at the Point-of-Sale. A discount map can also be set up for labour sales
if required.
These tables are found in Point of Sale, Miscellaneous options.
You should be aware that any Discount group represented by a lower case letter is used only for the purpose of
discounting labour. As such great care should be taken to ensure that you are using the correct discount group for
the Parts Franchise you need to deal with.
When going into the Discount map option, the system will prompt for the Discount group. Having entered the
discount group the system will then display the Discount map you have requested.
The Discount group code is allocated to a part via its Product group; to find this information first you should check
the Description tab of the stock card record.
