Parts Point of Sale Manager - Flipbook - Page 24
Warn if surcharge An extra level of warning with regard to the presence of exchange unit
surcharges can be invoked if this parameter is not set to 'N'. The
alternative parameter settings are 'P' for Parts Point-of-Sale only (i.e.
jobs without a labour line), 'S' for Service Point-of-Sale only (i.e. jobs that
have got a labour line) or 'A' for all types of job.
Auto-create
s'charg
This parameter controls whether a credit for a returned 'dirty unit' is
automatically available when selling the 'new equipment' part at Point-ofSale. If this parameter is set to 'Y' for Yes, and the operator sells a part
with an exchange unit value, then the operator will be prompted to
Continue (without giving credit for the returned dirty unit) or Createsurcharge-credit or Reserve-surcharge-credit. If the second or third
options are taken then the system will automatically insert another line
on the WIP for the return of the dirty unit.
The part number will be the same as the 'new equipment' part number
but will have either a prefix or suffix added (as set up against the
franchise in Stock Management), and the only value will be the
exchange unit value. There will be no selling or cost price, and the issue
quantity will be negative (to bring the dirty unit into stock). The status of
the part will be automatically set to "P" or "R" according to the choice
made.
Split surcharge
invs
This parameter if non-blank tells the Point-of-Sale system to hold back
all exchange unit surcharges and credits when issuing normal stock
items and place them on a separate document. In that way, if there is a
dispute concerning the exchange unit surcharge, it need not hold-up
payment for the normal stock items. If this facility is required then the
letter in this parameter box (upper case A to Z) tells the system what
document type is reserved for exchange unit invoices and credit notes.
Obviously this document type will need setting-up with suitable titles and
possibly sequence numbers, if document numbers are sequenced by
type rather than printer.
The automatic split will only take place on invoices, and where the total
value of all surcharge is greater than zero. The main invoice will appear
with no mention of any surcharge elements whatsoever. However, a
second Surcharge Invoice is automatically printed showing only the
surchargeable lines and their total value.
C.O.S. Surcharge
If checked, P.O.S. will use both selling and cost values for the surcharge
value of exchange parts. Suitable Nominal posting tables must exist
