1. Operator Details
The Point-of-Sale operators' table will allow you to allocate an operator number to each Pointof-Sale user to allow analysis of sales by operator. Each user within the Point-of-Sale system
should be allocated an operator number. This number is subsequently entered by the user as
the first prompt within the Point-of-Sale system. The system will identify if the number has been
entered correctly. If this is the case then the user's name will be displayed. If the number
entered is invalid then the system will again prompt for operator number.
The operator number or name; may be printed on invoices and credit notes, additionally it can
also be printed on Job Cards and parts documents to indicate the requesting user.
The same operator number is recorded in the parts transaction log files. These may be
interrogated to show sales performance by operator number. There is a standard transaction
display option within the Reports & Enquiries menu that will allow you to display all transactions
made by a specific user.
These operator numbers are also used by the Purchase Control system and will also record all
purchase transactions made by an operator into the transaction log files.
For every part number stored in the stock file, we can maintain up to nine locations of stock.
Normally all stock would be held in location one but, in certain circumstances, there may be a
need to store parts at another location. When creating a new user, you can specify which
locations (1-9) that the operator is allowed to sell from.
