9032 New vehicle other stock
When a cost is put onto a new vehicle (including estimates but excluding fixed costs) the debit entry will go into
this account. When the vehicle goes to I status the entry will credit this account and debit the relevant P & L
account. All entries should clear from this account once the vehicle is at I status, unless New Vehicle Costs in
Progress postings are not utilised. In this instance, any un-received estimated costs will be accrued in this
account.
9033/9507 New vehicle costs in progress
When a cost is added to a new vehicle (including estimates but excluding fixed costs) the credit entry will go to
this account. When a cost is posted from source (PL, SL or SO) the debit will go into this account. This account
should therefore reflect outstanding estimates only.
9055 Demo stock
This represents all used DEMO vehicles with an account status of A.
9058 Demo depreciation reserve
The balance in this account represents the depreciation accrued to demonstrators using the Adjusted Stock value
on the purchase brief page on the vehicle.
9059 Demo clearing account
The balance in this account should be zero. When a vehicle is sold/converted with a sales type of D both the
sales values and the cost values pass through this account. If this account is showing a variance then firstly the
nominal ledger should be checked to make sure that there are no nominal ledger journals to clear any outstanding
balances. Sometimes balances can occur in this account if options have been used on this vehicle that are not
set to post to 9059 (e.g. finance commissions, house charge reserve, fuel reserve, insurance sales, warranty
sales). This can be checked by looking at the detailed posting table for the model. Profit and loss postings, under
the column for sales type D.
On Rev7 the vehicle needs to be sold/transferred at zero profit. Any costs posted to the vehicle after it has been
transferred to demonstrator must equal the estimated cost (assuming that estimated costs are being used).
