– Adding a Delivery
Price
13. Introduction
If franchise data is being supplied by a third party organisation such as David Henley or CAP Data the delivery
prices will be included in the information supplied by them. Each time a change is made to the delivery prices
David Henley and CAP Data will supply the new information which can be uploaded from disc or through the
internet.
If delivery prices are to be added manually it is important they are added at the most appropriate level. Delivery
prices can be added at three levels in the Franchise Data module, at franchise, model or variant levels.
Setting the delivery prices at variant level would necessitate changing the price on each variant each time the
prices changed so it is recommended that these prices are set at as high a level as possible with franchise being
the highest level and variant the lowest level.
If the delivery prices are the same for all the models and all the variants for a particular franchise then setting the
delivery prices at franchise level would mean any changes would only need to be made once at this level. The
change made at franchise level would automatically change the prices at model and variant levels.
If the delivery prices are the same for most of the models but one model is different, setting the delivery prices at
franchise level is still the best option. After the price has been set at franchise level for most of the model range,
the price on the particular model which is different to the other models can be re-set for that one model. Similarly
the delivery price for a particular variant can be set different to all the other variants in a model range even if the
price has been set at franchise level.
The system can hold more than one price for delivery prices so if there is a price increase to come into affect in
the future the new price can be set into the system and will be used in Vehicle Stock Books (VSB) and
Showroom. The price used in VSB and showroom is determined by the Effective Date which can be set in those
modules. The Effective Date tells the system which price is the correct one to use if there is more than one price
for the variant.
In the example shown below a delivery selling price of £600.00 and a delivery cost price of £500.00 has been set
at Franchise 1 Level. No prices have been set for Model 1 or the three Variants of Model 1. The selling price and
cost price for each of these variants will be picked up from the Franchise level (£600.00 & £500.00).
