Franchise Data - Flipbook - Page 86
If any of the other three settings are being used on a variant then the list price will still need to be entered for that
variant but extra information will also need to be entered so that the cost price can be established. The other
information required will either be the variant margin (a percentage) or the actual cost of the vehicle.
It is not necessary to know the Cost calculation setting before entering the list prices (as shown in this process) as
the system will prompt for any further information it requires when the list prices are entered.
All cost and selling prices are entered before Vat, the system will automatically calculate the amount of Vat on
the purchase and sales values of the vehicle where necessary.
The system can hold more than one price for a vehicle so if there is a price increase to come into effect sometime
in the future, the new price can be entered and sit alongside the current price . The price to be used in the VSB
and Showroom modules is determined by the Effective Date which can be set to the required date in these
modules. The Effective Date tells the system which price is the correct one to use if there is more than one price
for the variant.
