Franchise Data - Flipbook - Page 78
All the other options (excluding the Factory fitted options, Colours and Trims) will need to be set up and
maintained by the dealership. It is important to plan the set up so that the administrative effort of keeping the
options and their prices up to date is minimised.
When setting up any new option there are five steps which need to be taken:
1. Select the relevant option category.
2. Select the 8level9 the option is to be attached to.
3. Create the option 8line9.
4. Create the selling (except on Non Recoverable options) and cost prices.
5. Select the 8availability9 of the option at the specific levels in the data structure.
1. Select the Relevant Option Category
The option categories are selected by clicking the
button to the right of the Option type field.
2. Select the 8Level9 the Option is to be Attached to
There are four levels in the Franchise Data module that an option can be set at:
•
•
•
•
Global level.
Franchise level.
Model level.
Variant level.
It is important to pick the most suitable level to create the option. An option created at Global level is available at
that level and all levels below it. Thus if an option such as the First Registration Fee is set at this level it can be
made available to all the franchises, all the models and all the variants without the need to set the option up
again. This makes maintaining the price of this option easier as it will only need to be changed once and the new
price will filter all the way down to each variant.
