STEP 6
The Purchase order types are purchase types which have been set up elsewhere in the system
and reflect the reasons for which vehicles are ordered for example S for Stock, D for
Demonstrator and so on. After the types have been set up they can be used as displayed in
the window in STEP 5 to indicate the number of days that the dealership has before the vehicle
will need to be adopted and the number of days it has before it will have to pay interest on the
vehicle.
These 8terms9 have normally been agreed with the manufacturer and are recorded here so that
reports can be created to indicate that stock which is approaching its adoption date or the
expiry of its interest free period.
The adoption date on the vehicle record is calculated from the date of consignment of the
vehicles. The system uses the numbers of days for the Purchase order type together with the
vehicle Consignment date to automatically calculate the Adoption date and the Interest free
period for each vehicle stock record.
STEP 7
The Contact Detail tab can be used to store franchise contact information although this
information is usually stored outside the Autoline system and consequently not always stored
here. This information is completely optional and has no functionality elsewhere.
