Option Relationships
20. Introduction
Options can be linked with each other on an 8include9 or 8exclude9 basis. Thus, if one particular option requires
another option to be selected with it, a link can be formed between the two options so that when the first is
selected in the Vehicle Stock Books (VSB) or Showroom modules then the other option is automatically selected.
An example of this is where alloy wheels are selected and anti-theft bolts also need to be fitted. Once the link has
been made between the wheels and the bolts, selecting the wheels as an option will automatically select the
bolts. Selecting the bolts will not automatically select the alloy wheels unless a relationship is created between
the bolts and the wheels. This second relationship might not be created if the bolts can be selected as an option
on normal wheels and not just alloy wheels.
An exclude relationship could be created between a single CD player and a multi CD player so that if one is
picked the other can9t be picked. The linking here would have to be created twice, from the single CD player and
the multi CD player, each time excluding the other.
