Prices
19. Introduction
When a variant model is first added to the system a cost has to be created for that variant. To create the initial
cost of the variant, refer to process 03.005.04 - Build Specification – Adding a Vehicle Price.
There are two methods for up-dating the variant record selling price when there is a price change. The first is to
use the process above (03.005.04 - Build Specification – Adding a Vehicle Price) and enter the new price with the
correct Effective from date for the price change.
The second method is outlined in this process. This method can be used in a similar way to the other method and
the new selling price can be entered against each variant. But this process can also be used to change the prices
by a percentage value without having to calculate the new values in Pounds Sterling. The other advantage of this
routine is that it can apply percentage increases at Franchise, Model or Variant levels. Thus, if a price increase of
(say) 2.00% has been announced across the whole of the range then this process can be used to change the all
prices of a particular Franchise range by this margin without the need to make the change against each model
and/or variant.
Any future vehicle price changes can be entered using this method and sit alongside the current prices. If more
than one price exists for a variant record then the users in the Vehicle Stock Books and Showroom modules will
be able to select which of the price is to be used when they create a new vehicle order.
