STEP 7
Enter a new option code in the Option code field. It is recommended that the Option code is in
UPPER CASE but alpha or numeric characters can be used.
Complete the relevant information on the General tab.
The Default VAT code is usually C Vehicle Outputs but check with the Dealer Accountant if
there is any uncertainty about this setting.
The Option group can be used to group options together for use in the Showroom module.
Thus if a lot of types of alarms are available on a particular variant they can be grouped so that
only one line is taken up by all the alarm options (in the Showroom module) and the full list can
be seen by expanding the line (by clicking on the plus sign next to the option).
In this example this option has put in the 8group9 ALARM, this is not the same grouping as that
described in the paragraph above – refer to process 03.002.01 – Creating Generic Option
Categories for further information on these groups.
The Analysis Code is very important as this will ultimately determine the accounts postings for
the cost and income of the option when it is selected on a vehicle record, refer to process
03.005.09 - Vehicle Stock Books – The Analysis Codes for further information.
Estimated/Fixed cost – refer to STEP 8 below for further details.
