Detaching Vehicles from
Customer Records
17. Introduction
A vehicle record is linked to a customer record via three Iinks – Sales, Aftersales and Driver. This is because in a
company vehicle situation there can be up to three different customer records linked to the vehicle depending who
has responsibility for sales, servicing and ownership of the vehicle.
This means that not only can a vehicle be completely detached from a customer record but also one or two links
can be detached dependant upon the circumstances. For example, the driver of the vehicle may have changed.
All three links are detached from a customer record if that person does not own that particular vehicle anymore or
if the vehicle or customer record is to be deleted from the CRM database.
Once all three vehicle links have been detached from a customer record an optional facility will be made available
for a reference to be posted onto the customer record recording the type of previous vehicle that individual used
to own.
